Stop Motion Animation Video MakingStop motion animation is animation that is made one photograph at time. It uses objects or 2D drawings that are moved slightly between photos. When you play back the images quickly, it creates the illusion of movement. It’s like a flipbook of drawings, but using video.
This ASA gives children the chance to understand mechanisms, to role play and create their own stories, transferring them to moving pictures. It gives children experience and information to draw on when developing their own ideas. They sketch a design based on their ideas, organize a storyboard and then make their moving picture centred on their own story. Teamwork is essential and the final video will be made as a group. Patience is required! The video examples below have some scenes with stop motion in them. The first 14 seconds of the first video used 250 photographs. However, with patience and software found on most computers, a fun video can be created.
