Dear Parents and Guardians

Dear Parents and Guardians

As we discussed and explained in detail at the Parent Teacher group meeting last night, starting on Monday October 3rd 2016 we will be phasing in a new system for paying your child’s cafeteria charges. Each student will be issued with an identification card (see example below) with a unique barcode on it. Using this barcode at the cafeteria point of purchase student will be able to charge their purchases to their cafeteria account. Parents will be able to come into the cafeteria and pay money into their child’s cafeteria account at their convenience, eliminating the need for sending cash with their child everyday and having to buy cafeteria tickets. If parents are unable to come to school to pay money into their child’s cafeteria account, they can send the lump sum with their child at the start of the day – the cafeteria staff will be present in the mornings as they have been in the past for ticket sales, to accept payments into students’ cafeteria accounts. We recommend that you put enough money on the cards to last for at least two weeks, including lunches and snacks. You may begin putting money on the card as soon as your child receives it. Students will be advised by the cafeteria when their accounts are close to being empty so that parents can come in and recharge the child’s account before the account runs out of money. This new system will not only be more efficient but also will allow parents to track what their child is purchasing.

Please note: For the first week, Oct 3rd – 7th students will be able to use cash, cafeteria tickets and their charge accounts in the cafeteria. From October 10 onwards the cafeteria will no longer accept lunch tickets, students will have to use their charge accounts or EXACT change only to purchase food items(s).

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me, our Assistant Principal, Ms Effa or any one of our Student Services officers for clarification.
