Summer Opportunities for High School Students. At ASU, we believe that every summer should be utilize to gain new skills, strengthen their knowledge and to explore a certain subject. This section will help you to start your search for summer opportunities in and out of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

1. Savannah College of Art and Design: Hong Kong
Rising Star
This challenging five-week program awards college credit to rising high school seniors who are ready for a university experience at SCAD Hong Kong. Students enroll in two college-level classes and have the opportunity to build or enhance their portfolios. SCAD Rising Star participants utilize university spaces—from classrooms and computer labs to studios and production suites—in the development and completion of class assignments. SCAD libraries, galleries, and other resources are also available. Students participating in the residential program live in a SCAD residence hall, and all students enjoy meals at a SCAD dining hall.

2. University of Melbourne: Melbourne, Australia
Young Leaders Program
Explore future study and career interests through the Young Leaders Program (YLP). Experience life at the University of Melbourne, ranked #32 in the world. Choose from academic streams in STEM, business, design, the humanities and performing arts. The program includes mini-lectures, workshops, industry speakers, excursions and peer mentors. Live on campus in the residential Trinity College and make friends with high school students from Australia and around the world. The University is located in the heart of Melbourne, consistently voted one of the most livable cities in the world.YLP runs in July, with options for 1 or 2 weeks. There is also a 3-week YLP program in December. Scholarships available.

3. McGill University: Montreal, Quebec, Canada
McGill Summer Academy 
July 5-18, 2010 and July 19-August 1, 2020
Designed for high school students currently in grades 10 or 11, the McGill Summer Academy unfolds over two weeks with classes, workshops, activities, and trips, and is supervised 24/7 by McGill staff and students. This unforgettable summer experience will help students build on their academic and life skills to transition to university. The BASE of the program is the academic coursework centered around popular majors, including neuroscience, international relations and humanitarian cooperation, economics, and information technology. Students will experience how learning, research, and teamwork function at McGill. The CENTRE of the program focuses on skill-building, career exploration, and mental and physical wellness. The PEAK of the program focusses on culture and exploring Montreal. McGill University and the Summer Academy Connection: McGill's student population is extremely diverse: of our almost 40,000 students, 32% are international representing 147 countries! Our Summer Academy Team leaders are chosen from this diverse group of students, and they'll be there to help you experience what it's really like to be a student at McGill. McGill is located in the heart of Montreal, currently ranked one of the top student cities in the world. MSA students experience the multilingual and multiculturalism that exists in the city and on campus and will discover that studying at an English language university in a French province is a unique opportunity in North America. Students will explore Montreal's lively neighborhoods including our famed Old Port with its cobblestone streets, the Plateau with its amazing food, architecture and murals, the Quartier des spectacles - hub of Montreal's summer-long festival season, and so much more! Overall, McGill Summer Academy hopes to provide an academic enriching experience that creates connections with fellow students and the McGill community all while exploring the unique aspects of the greater Montreal area. We want students to leave feeling confident about going to university, knowing they posses the necessary life skills to ensure a successful transition from high school.

4. Bocconi University: Milan, Italy
Summer's Cool for High School Students
29 June - 10 July 2020
Bocconi Summer School offers a selective study program, entirely taught in English, open to motivated students. It's a unique opportunity to participate in an exciting laboratory of teaching and experiential learning.Courses are held in innovative multimedia spaces with teaching materials and tools available to you online at any time. To keep you anchored to the real world, each course curriculum includes company visits and teamwork on real-life business cases and situations, putting to the test your problem-solving and soft skills and creativity. The courses' emphasis on working in teams will allow you to meet, socialize with and learn from carefully selected bright and dynamic young people with a lot of talent to share.Of course, you and your classmates will also have a great opportunity to build some memories in Milan and Italy in your free time. Whether you like the sea, the mountains, art, history – or ravioli and rap – there is a lot to learn, and not all of it in books. Bocconi Summer School offers high school students in their third-last and second-last year the opportunity to experience our urban campus in downtown Milan, while studying 2 subjects in 2 weeks (taught in English): pursue your areas of interest or try out something new! Each course will consist of four morning sessions (lectures - for a total of 12 classroom hours - plus exercises) and two afternoon team-working sessions on a specific project (one afternoon session will be dedicated to a company visit/field trip).Teams will present their projects to a manager or an entrepreneur for feedback on Friday morning.
